Small “The Central Bank of a Virginia, Staunton, July 4th, 1862” Note – Reprinted on the back of a larger note!

And the larger note has the famous vignette of a slave master on his horse supervising slaves.  The smaller note has a vignette of an agriculture scene… very peaceful.  Perhaps the bank wanted to get away from slave related vignettes after Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation?
