185th New York Volunteers – The Christian Soldier’s League I.D. Disc/Medal – THE ONLY ONE WE HAVE EVER SEEN
This brass I.D./medal/pin was designed to be worn by the soldier that made a pledge to be faithful “to God & to each other”.
The front: “CHRISTIAN SOLDIER’S LEAGUE, 185 N. Y. V.”
The reverse: “PLEDGED TO BE FAITHFUL TO GOD & TO EACH OTHER”
Fortunately, we found a write-up in the Journal of the American Temperance Union which describes the starting of this organized group of men:

Condition is very fine with uncleaned patina… perhaps the only remaining example?
#A338 – Price $1,250
