Magnificent Pen & Ink Drawing Done by Louis Palma di Cesnola, Colonel of the 4th New York Cavalry while in Libby Prison – Di Cesnola was & taken Prisoner at the Battle of Aldie & was Medal of Honor Recipient

In Libby prison, Di Cesnola apparently started to make a sketchbook, and this drawing was the cover page. The detail is amazing. Notice that on the easel there is a picture of Libby in miniature! Written on the side of this drawing in ink is written “Libby Prison Richmond, Va. September 1863”. We have never seen or know of any other pages from this sketchbook.
