Original Regimental History of the 15th Mass. Volunteer Infantry
This book entitled, The Story of the 15th Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry in the Civil War 1861-1864, was written by Andrew E. Ford and published in 1898. While paperback reprints at one time were available of this rare regimental, it is always nice to have the real thing for such a famous regiment. Offered is an ex-library copy, this one from Bridgewater Public Library.
What makes an original copy so nice is the large foldout map of the battles that the 15th Mass. fought in. It also has nice photos of Col. Charles Devens and George H. Ward. All the pages are in fine condition with only the page before the title page and the page before the back cover being fragile. The last copy we saw of an original sold for $250 and was not as nice a copy as this one.
#EL295 – Price $95 (What we paid for it back in 1971)
