Sir,
I am afraid that a letter which I did myself the honor to address to you some months ago has not reached your hands. It was to inform you by Direction of the South Carolina Society for promoting & improving agriculture, that you were unanimously elected an honorary member thereof. I do myself the pleasure of repeating this notice & of sending to you a copy or two of an address & the Rules of the Society, published by their order. I am, Sir,
Your most obedient
